Published by Springer in January 2026, this handbook brings together psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy, and nutrition to guide clinicians through diagnosing and treating ARFID, from sensory-based eating to fear-based restriction to low appetite. I co-edited the volume with colleagues from Stanford Medicine.
I was part of the Stanford-UCSF research team studying higher-calorie refeeding for hospitalized patients with anorexia nervosa, work that has shifted how hospitals approach nutritional rehabilitation for young people.
I speak regularly at professional conferences and trainings on ARFID nutrition care and management, adolescent eating disorder treatment, and refeeding. For speaking inquiries, please get in touch.
The research is how I know what works. The practice is where it helps your child.
